WBC Responds: Mora Ordered To Face Martinez

As previously reported, WBC junior middleweight champion Sergio Mora has his back against the wall. He is contractually obligated to rematch Vernon Forrest in the fall, and he owes a mandatory title shot to Sergio Martinez. If he decides to face Martinez, he will face legal action from Forrest for breaching the immediate rematch clause which stems from their fight contract. If he fights Forrest, the WBC will strip him of the title [details]

Why the hell would they force a mandatory so fast, especially considering there was a rematch clause in his contract? That sounds like some straight up bull**** considering other fighters can get over a year (or two) without having to face a mandatory. I'm not a mora fan at all, but that ruling sounds pretty ****in ******

i totally agree, to force the defense so quickly when there is a stipulated rematch clause that would not have been a secret is pretty outrageous tbh.
