I just hope Joe wins so he can go out on top undefeated. I know it will piss thousands of people off and I guess that's the only reason I want it to happen.

jones is not joe's last fight but kelly. joe will be too much for jones and after beating jones a pressure to fight kelly would be too strong. joe has no choice but to fight kelly. that would be his last fight.
his first and last knockout loss... to pavlik.
then retirement.Comment

Does it really matter why they didn't fight years ago? They are fighting now so what happened back then doesn't matter at all.
IMO it all matters on what Roy shows up. If a tentative Roy (Tarver 3) shows up and lays on the ropes all night, Joe will outwork him to an easy decision. If a motivated Roy shows up, it should be a competitive fight. We all know Joe throws 1000 punches per round but if Roy can land that lead right hand of his, Joe will think twice about doing that. That and the fact that Roy is arguably still one of the best counter punchers (precision wise) at the time and that will also play a big part as to how many punches Joe is willing to throw.
As for Joe doing Roy a favor... aren't they doing each other a favor? Sure everyone wants to see Joe fight Kelly Pavlik but in boxing, if it doesn't make dollars it doesn't make sense. Joe wants a big money fight (which is what Roy gives him) and Roy wants a top name fight and a big money fight (which is what Joe gives him) so, they are doing each other a favor.
There will not be a KO in this fight unless Roy lays on the ropes all night. Does Joe have the power to KO Roy? I really don't think so if he stays off the ropes and Roy will not be looking for a KO b/c well, when is the last time he's looked for a KO?
It should be a good fight and very lucrative for both guys and I do see a rematch and possibly a rubber match if the PPV numbers are high enough.Comment
