He needs to post a couple of decent wins in the mean time but I don't see why they couldn't have another fight early next year. The first fight was close and Mosley is still a quality fighter.

I'd like to see Cotto take on a guy like Williams at the end of this year. Maybe a Cotto/Williams - Mosley/Clottey card with the winners facing off in '09 to settle the Welterweight division once and for all.

Not a bad idea, but aren't we counting Mr. Judah out a little too early?!? It should be a tough fight for Zab, but I think he has a good shot at winning...

cotto needs to win this upcoming fight and call mayweather out. I don't see anything else he needs to do. After that win or loose then he can go back and fight the rest of the welterweight crop...

Agreed. You don't earn another title shot by being inactive. Even though Shane deserves by not ducking anybody. He is a class act but he needs to beat a top welter like Clottey or Williams first.

                More wishful thinking than anything.

Judah has a shot for sure. I have never been completely sold on Clottey. I suspect he's a front runner who will never quite beat the very best fighters in a division. Funny because that can be said about Judah too, although Judah actually notched a quality win over Spinks. If Judah can establish his power early he has a shot to hang on for a decision. I don't see either guy being knocked out, but I favor Clottey by decision.
