The promoter in Romania is screaming bloody murder. Dracula’s ancestors may just be screaming for blood, I don’t know. But the other shoe is about to drop and it may be one which, if you don’t mind mixed metaphors, can light a fire under the light heavyweight division.
Television sources tell ******************.com that Showtime is finally getting what it wants with the 175-pounders and that is a showdown between Antonio “Magic Man” Tarver and the much younger Bad Chad Dawson.
The working date is October 18 and it could be signed and sealed before the day is over.
******************.com tried, without success, to reach promoter Big Gary Shaw. It’s know that Big Gar was working and working on Tarver to get him to face Dawson. It seems that Tarver is finally convinced this the best opportunity on the table right now.
And as for a working trip to Romania, Dawson will have to forego that and his mandatory WBC title bout against local hero Adrian Diuaconu. Dawson-Diaconu was supposed to have happened on Showtime last year in Sacramentu but Diaconu pulled out with an injury.
They need to stop the moaning and groaning in Bucharest. Diaconu gets the WBC title handed to him on a silver platter and now a guy everybody likes, Glen “Road Warrior” Johnson, will fight the Romanian.
As his nickname implies, Johnson is probably checking his passport status and maybe packing his suitcases even now.
Johnson is not afraid of any bloodsucking vampires.
