Floyd laid the blueprint out for Cotto on how to get the fight made, lets see if Cotto follows the script, if not then he dont want the fight.

Exactly. Like I said, why would Arum make an offer or draw up a contract that he knows Floyd won't sign? He could do the old publicity stunt that promoters have done for years and offer a ridiculous amount in the press or on the internet to make Mayweather look bad. At least he didn't go there. Like you said (or implied), there will be a fight when Floyd wants one. This "calling him out" **** is nothing but blowing smoke.Comment

He hasnt done nothing other than beat whoever was in front of him, Ill give you that, but it would help to have some kind of personality, I mean we are talking PPV here, if you want more fans then appeal to them. Oscar got on board with the ladies because they were attracted to him, he also talked more back then and tried to show some personality. You dont hear about Cotto until he is about to fight. So keep winning is one thing he has done, props for that, but past fights show his fanbase is lacking, also if Floyd says he dont wanna make Arum any money, then dont let Arum promote the fight if you want it so bad.Comment

Cotto is doing what he can to make the fight happen, by fighting the best opposition out there in the welterweight division.
My only fear is that either Cotto loses to Margarito/Williams/someone else or Mayweather loses a step by being inactive for too long, or simply never comes back, robbing us of a good fight between two top fighters.Comment

I dont actually think floyd ducked cotto I just think floyd got sick of boxing because he already had so much money and in his mind he was done with the sport... floyd proved everything he wanted and became rich there was no point in fighting oscar again or going after cotto.
So no floyd didnt duck cotto he just didnt want to fight.Comment

And also Floyd knows that no matter what he does you cant please people which has been proven, he can KO Cotto in 1 round and people will still not be satisfied, the nerve of Merchant bringing up Winky's name after Hatton fight just goes to prove it. If that is not a person that wants Floyd to lose I dont know what is.Comment

The thing is, fighters call each other out all the time. Now I like Margs, but if you ask Margs, dlh, floyd, shane judah all ducked him. Ducking is when you HAVE to fight someone, and you don't. Floyd DIDN'T have to fight Margs. He was never a mandatory. Plus, there is bad blood between Floyd and Arum. Floyd did say he would meet Margs down the line possibly. Floyd did say after the fight with hatton on espn that cotto is a very good fighter, but he knows he can't beat me. He also said all Cotto had to do is speak to his people or something to that effect and it can happen. Then we get the infamous "fan base" comment on espn2 Friday night fights. TBO, I think that Floyd is waiting for the top guys to distance himself from the pack. I think that is the way many of us feel, even Floyd's critics. Nobody believes he is retired except for slobs and fanatics.Comment

With someone as outspoken as floyd people will just keep on throwing challengers infront of him cause they want him to lose. Im not gonna lie i wish mayweather stayed and fought cotto and the rest of the stacked welterweight division. I think floyd should of left on a better note rather then fight an old oscar and a out classed hatton, and cotto would of been a perfect fight for that. Who knows maybe in a year or two the fight will happen once cotto learns to trash talk.Comment
