Is It Possible To Duck Someone Who Never Calls You Out?

Just wondering with Cotto/Mayweather, many say Floyd ducked, but if a guy never utters your name is it ducking? If a fighter never says another's name for all that other fighter knows, could be that the guy doesnt want to fight him, isnt thinking about him, isnt ready to fight him, and or doesnt want to fight him, but I just dont see how you can duck someone who never says your name, what do you guys think?

thats why i never said Floyd ducked Cotto, but Floyd has actively pursued fighters that didnt call him out at the same time. ive made a thread about this before. Cotto really wants this fight, then call him out. if no, oh well.

No it isn't possible. To answer the thread's question.

If someone who is unproven calls u out and you decide to ignore him. That is also not ducking.

Cotto HAS mentioned Floyd before, but not a la Ricky Hatton. Not personally on some "All I want is Floyd" or "I need to fight Floyd", but as in "this is the fight we want". By "we", he means, his team and more importantly, the fans. Floyd don't wanna fight him, so what more can Cotto do, but let his hands do the talkin'?

Floyd is ducking Cotto because everyone else is telling Floyd to fight him.

              It's not his style.

Ducked? maybe not. Avoided? Yes. When the entire boxing community is calling for that fight, and u come up with 101 excuses for which not to fight him, then what would u call that?

What I think will happen is that Arum sees what worked in Hatton calling out Floyd on national tv and he has told Cotto to do the same, so if he gets past Margo, I can almost guarantee you that he will say he wants to fight Floyd and even though its not his style, Arum will probably coach him to say something slick to try and get under Floyd's skin and at the same time embarrass him, remember where you heard it first.

Again, for all Floyd knows, Cotto doesnt want to fight him since he hasnt said his name, for all we know Cotto could be, should I dare say scared for the lack of a better word, not ready to fight Floyd in his mind. We dont know what Miguel thinks.
