First of all Margarito had been calling out Lil Floyd Joy Sinclair long before the Baldo fight was even in discussion but a true champion would have fought both of them.. It's all about the money right? What better way to get more money then to fight Judah, then Margarito and finish the year of with Baldo... I mean to you Floyd Boys Margo has and always will be a bum right? What better tune up for Baldo (The greatest linear champ of our time... lolz) You're telling me Mayweather couldn't have fought four times that year and earned even more money?
And don't give me that it's too much for one year bull****.. Cotto has been fighting 3 times a year since 2005.
The truth hurts..
Zab 04-08-2006
Baldo 11-040-2006
A good seven months in between those fights
that year Cotto fought every 3 months..
run motha****a run! duck nicca duck nicca..
was chilling, right around my way, 21st ******** at the beach
Oscar fought in May that year. Floyd wanted to fight Oscar and the rumor was that Oscar wanted to fight in September of that same year. After waiting in June, Oscar says he wants to fight May of next year.
Arum propses date of August 2, 2006 for them to fight. That isn't enough time to train for Floyd and he couldn't right away because he had hurt his hand in the Judah fight.
Then that leaves Floyd trying to chase Shane Mosley after the Vargas fight and Shane says no he wants to take the rest of the time off. That wastes even more time.
Mayweather also hates Bob Arum at this point not wanting to do any business with him. Mayweather signs to fight Baldomir on August 14th. Also, Baldomir was the actual champion at this point in time anyway and so Mayweather fought him.Comment

Floyd never denied that Arum offered him 8mil for the fight. He even went on the record to say that he is making $1 more than Arum's offer for the Baldomir fight. Obviously the offer was legit.Comment

I'll take a crack at this deveel:
When Arum made Floyd the $8mil offer to fight Margarito, Floyd had yet to secure an opponent for his Nov 4th ppv date. He then went desperately scrambling for an opponent, when all along, Margarito was the only one willing to step in the ring with him. Not to mention, Margo was the #1 ranked WW at the time.
Floyd went looking for fights with Shane (even though Shane had already stated that he will be taking the rest of the year off). He tried to get Oscar in the ring, but Oscar was in retirement mode at the time.
He even went as low as to try to secure a fight with Cory Spinks! (Thank god that idea got shut down). Floyd ONLY choices were Margarito, or Baldomir (given Baldo beat Gatti). Floyd crossed his fingers, and prayed to the gods in hope of a Baldomir win. So my question is, if all along he had the option of fighting the #1 ranked WW for a career high payday, why wait, gamble, and risk losing out, in hopes that Baldomir beats Gatti? What would Floyd have done if Gatti won? There is no way on earth Gatti's people or HBO would've let that happen again, so what would Floyd have done? An even better question is, If Floyd's intentions were to go after Baldomir's titles/belts, why was Baldomir Floyd's last choice??? If you're after the WW champ, why do u go looking for fights with guys like Spinks and Shane? Floydboyz will argue that Floyd chose Baldomir over Margarito because Baldomir had the titles. Why wasnt Baldomir Floyd's first option then?????
Also Shane Mosley is a better name on your resume then Carlos Baldomir or Antonio Margarito. But when Shane doesn't want to fight you, you choose Baldomir because he's the actual champion.
If Floyd had beaten Shane Mosley people would say he would have been old. If Floyd had beat Margarito people would say he would have been overrated and a bum. Kinda like you did with Ricky Hatton Deevel. You jumped off that guy's bandwagon so fast it's hiliarious. It'd be one thing if you had picked him to beat Floyd and then remain a fan afterwards or hadn't gone making a million threads about how Floyd was going to lose, but you did and then Hatton lost, you jumped the bandwagon.Last edited by warp1432; 07-10-2008, 02:32 PM.Comment

No he wasn't. Baldomir was. Baldomir beat the champion he became the champion. Margarito hadn't proven ****. Beating Judah, Gatti is better then beating Cintron and Six Heads Lewis.
Even though he fought in May 2006?
First off, Baldomir wasn't his only option that he had to wait for him to beat Gatti. Mosley fought Vargas a week before that fight. He was waiting for Shane.
