    Who's fanbase decreased more...

...after the possibility of a win vs Mayweather went down the drain, through a loss or PBF retirement?

    Hatton's.
Before the fight he was the only dangerous opponent Floyd would have faced, he had the perfect style to beat Floyd, he had the edge in power and infighting etc etc...
    After the fight...
    Nothing.

No Hatton fans fault Hatton soley for the loss, so no I wouldn't say his fan base decreased much whatsoever. Cortez's reputation as a referee however...

Still never understood why Cortez got flack for not allowing Ricky Hatton to illegally hold and hit on the inside.
and people called it not allowing him to "fight his fight"

I was upset with Hatton after the PBF fight, he didn't take the defeat very well IMO regardless of the circumstances.

Saying that, he sold out a 55,000 seater stadium in a space of a few hours in his next fight, so he still has the biggest fan base in boxing and is one of the biggest draws in boxing IMO.

One reason is because he allowed Mayweather to get away with the same tactics. Floyd was the better fighter, but he got the benefit of a hometown referee.
