Haye To Fight Maskaev !!!!!!!!!!???

Yeah, there was a thread made on this info from boxrec yesterday. Whoever Haye fights first, it looks like he's going for the weakest opponent with the biggest name. I see nothing wrong with that as long as he steps it up in his next fight. For all the talking he's been doing, I'm a bit disappointed he's even considering such weak opponents for his first fight.Comment

Huge step up over Haye's previous 3 opponents at HW, Haye should stop the 39 year old Oleg by about the 4th round. Then hopefully he fights someone without a cane.Comment

I see nothing wrong with this fight, everyone he would like to fight is booked up for fights already so he doesn't want to just stand around and wait around for them to have their fight because the more time out of the ring spent the more rusty you get. So in the mean time he wants a big name that won't cause him many problems and he has it in Maskaev. After Maskaev he will probably go for the winner oh Toney-Rahman. Remember he has a 6 fight deal with Setanta so he's not going to go for Wlad straight away.Comment

It's clear it's a last paycheck for Maskaev...
an indifferent and discouraged Maskaev stands no chance against a much faster, younger, powerful and most of all very determined Haye...
Very bad management for Maskaev... He has nothing to gain in this one other than the $$$
He should at least consider a fight with Toney, shall he beat Rahman, or Ruiz / Valuev, where he could probably get more money than for fighting Haye.
A fight with Williams will also be interesting.
Low Blow on Haye's side... talk about picking a victim... that's much worst than when RJJ decided to challenge the Huggy Bear for his HW title..Comment

Haye's smart guys, he said in an interview he wants to smash the big flag heavyweight slobs to pieces..
He'll beat Maskaev, then probably (hopefully) the winner of the Rahman/Toney fight in a world title eliminator.
If he wins both of those matches, he would've beaten TWO recent former world champions, and in addition to that, with his current WBC World Heavyweight ranking being 5th he will be well deserving of a shot at Klitschko after those two fights.Comment

Man, he'd be really cleaning the top 10, wouldn't he. Why don't he fight Foreman or Holyfield, they are former champions also.Haye's smart guys, he said in an interview he wants to smash the big flag heavyweight slobs to pieces..

Maskaev and Rahman are WBC top 10. Thats the best route for Haye, should he then claim the WBC strap, a potential Haye-Klitschko clash would be astronomical.Comment
