So you judge an enitre nation based on a few drunks in a pub?Hey bro, My mom (that means my "mum" in case you didn't understand) lives in Berkhamsted. I've experienced it from both sides of the pond brother, so how am I the ignorant one? I actually watched Hatton get put on his ass in London in a rowdy pub of idiots who ooed and awwed at every ineffective punch he threw and cried about how his game was thrown off by not being allowed to partake in his usual ridiculous hugging...
Anyway, I gotta get off the forum for today, and I'm done conversing with you. Have a lovely day, sir.
Man if I based Americans on some of the ones Ive met, it wouldnt be pretty. Im glad Im not that ignorant though.Comment

that's ashame. i guess the "idiots" thing and the "mum" thing made that comment extra aggressive, but the "yank" thing and the animosity i felt rooting for mayweather in that situation kinda scarred me. plus luis's from new york, trains at my gym, and that fight is a sore spot for me in general. sorry if in conversing with sir dirk diggler I came out too aggressive thus catching brits around the world in my internet forum crossfire.Originally posted by T-97Ok, my opinion of you has now dropped. You seem to be hating on UK people and are so ignorant to say my scorcard of the fight means nothing cause i'm English?
Yeah Ok....Whatever
my apologies for assuming you may have been biased in scoring the fight. you're entitled to your opinion, as am I. Now I'm out for real or else I'll be responding all day.
Cheers to all, thanks for the .gif, and good luck in your animated .gif endeavors. peace.Last edited by mspiegelo; 07-08-2008, 02:43 PM.Comment

Judging by your comments about Hopkins and Collazo, i think accusations of bias are more suited to you.Comment

I never call anyone bias if talking about a fight as close as those. They were both very close, and you could score it differently depending on different things you like. Some may favour agression, others clean punching etc.Comment

Exceptional post.its understandable. you're english. I'm originally from Philly and now live NYC. its all good. i can be as biased as the next guy, but i try to score objectively. when i score for guys i love (b-hop over calzaghe for instance) its not because i am an unconditional fanatic. Its because the traits that I like the guy for in the first place are shining and in b-hops case, they tend to fly under the radar. when you slow down the calzaghe-bhop sequences, you see calzaghe's punches missing the mark, grazing hopkins at best, while hopkins controlled the fight, the pace, and landed the cleaner harder shots.
with luis, he was by far the better boxer. slicker, but also proved stronger too when they ******. he pulled out the championship rounds. ricky won a 5 rounds as well, but the flash knockdown on a break should not have been a deciding factor in the fight. s'all good. Luis will be back and Ricky knows not to show his face at welter ever again unless he is getting PAAAAIIIIIDDD, ie De La Hoya.... (Though he didn't seem to want that either, hmmm).
I fully agree with your assessment of both fights, especially the B-Hop fight.
That decision was a Whitaker-De La Hoya repeat...judges favoring the younger, come-forward-to-little-effect posterboy despite an obvious schooling going down.Comment

Im just saying its ironic that he accuses us of bias but then pledges his allegiance to Hopkins and Collazo.
Like I said, it was very close. I personally dont think Collazo did enough to win even though he landed cleaner and more eye catching shots.
I think he did a lot more than Hopkins did in the Calzaghe fight though which wasnt nearly as close.Comment

The assesments were good. Even if i disagree with them. The problem i had with the post was his accusation of me being biased due to being English
however, he apologized for that so it's all good
