You have to do more than that to win the title. The champion gets the benefit of the doubt, not the other way around. I scored the fight for Collazo even if the last round's a 10-9, and it could be viewed a 10-8. hugging and holding for dear life is not the same as "coming forward" in the traditional sense...

No one gets the benefit of the doubt. Hatton did more work, knocked Collazo down, landed more punches, won more rounds. I scored it 114-113 I believe for Hatton so yeah it was very close but Hatton still won. And no one took a "devestating beating". Go watch round 12 again, the last minute, Hatton was coming forward - and clearly wasnt hurt. He was momentarily buzzed. 10-8? Not a chance.

its understandable. you're english. I'm originally from Philly and now live NYC. its all good. i can be as biased as the next guy, but i try to score objectively. when i score for guys i love (b-hop over calzaghe for instance) its not because i am an unconditional fanatic. Its because the traits that I like the guy for in the first place are shining and in b-hops case, they tend to fly under the radar. when you slow down the calzaghe-bhop sequences, you see calzaghe's punches missing the mark, grazing hopkins at best, while hopkins controlled the fight, the pace, and landed the cleaner harder shots.

with luis, he was by far the better boxer. slicker, but also proved stronger too when they ******. he pulled out the championship rounds. ricky won a 5 rounds as well, but the flash knockdown on a break should not have been a deciding factor in the fight. s'all good. Luis will be back and Ricky knows not to show his face at welter ever again unless he is getting PAAAAIIIIIDDD, ie De La Hoya.... (Though he didn't seem to want that either, hmmm).

Nah, TBH from what i seen of him posting he is a cool guy. But it pisses me off to be called biased and unobjective just because i scored a close fight to the guy that comes from England. I just thought Ricky outworked him in some rounds to win..

Exactly. It wasnt as if either man dominated the fight. I thought the same.

At the same time ive heard some people say that Hatton won 5 of the first 7 rounds against Mayweather which I think is a joke. If i was biased, Id probably agree wouldnt i?
