Joachim Alcine - How good is he??

I have to say i never saw him fight. Hes undefeated and champion at 154 pounds. Hes a verry unknown champion, propably the most unknown champ above the lightweights. I will make shure to watch his fight against Santos.
What do you think about Alcine?

he's ok. anyone who is a world champion has to be doing something right. on the other hand, the 154 pound division is kinda weak in comparison to say, welterweight. I think Travis Simms is a better fighter than Alcine, but he looked horrible in that fight. Something must have went wrong in training cause all he did was smother, hold, and stink out the joint and then disappear. Where is that guy anyway?

I think Santos might give Alcine problems. He is a tough cookie, but then again I haven't seen enough of these two fighters to make a really educated assessment.

I like Alcine, but I also have to say that I wasnt that impressed with him before the Simms fight and I was pretty sure Simms would beat him. I also thought maybe Simms has the potential to be a P4P fighter though ...

Alcine won a close decision against Simms, but he deserved it. His defense was really tight and he didnt let Simms get his work done from the outside. I dont think Santos is even close to Simms speed, timing and accuracy in that department, but if they get close, he wont just hold and clinch like Simms did. He will fight back and we will see how that will turn out.

But Im definitely picking Alcine to win a clear UD.

Travis Simms was born in 1971. What do you expect from these old fighters? Ten years ago he would have beaten Alcine. That was then, this is now. However, the topic is Alcine. He is a good solid fighter, but I don't expect him to beat talented opposition unless they are as old as Travis Simms.
