Ya, basically the 1st Manny-Marquez fight sold the 2nd fight. It was a guaranteed must watch. You knew this fight was evenly matched and the rematch could go either way. It wasn't as predictable as let's say Manny-Diaz, and thus attracted more viewers. It's like the sequel to a really good movie. Your gonna pay to see it in the theater. I think regardless of who the fighters were, the way the fight went down, it would have guaranteed people would watch a rematch. But the fighters themselves added to everything.

Strum-De La Hoya only did 350,000 and Hopkins-DLH did more then Mayorga-DLH and Mayorga talked way more ****.

But those are in the wake of oscar's comeback trail. He had already been out of the spotlight for awhile.

Well I'm just saying to be able to go with 700,000 more buys in a performance where Oscar looked like **** isn't that bad. I'm not saying that Bernard is a huge draw (or even a big one), but you said the 1 and 2 thing always sells.

It worked for them too. Not sure if Oscar had the right to be called "The second best middleweight in the world" though...

Left said it, not me. But I agree with him. Just some moreso than others. Pac Marquez rematch sold more because in this case the 1 and 2 as the ppv title stated...had well documented unfinished business. Pac vs Diaz could have been the same giant mismatch that it was but if Diaz was the undisputed lightweight champ the ppv numbers would have been on par if not greater than the marquez rematch

Diaz is unknown only 4 people watch him in Vegas..

                Pac-Diaz = 250k

                Barrera-Marquez = 225k

                Barrera-Fana = 50k

You gave to be kidding me, Pac fighting a nobdy can generate 250k+ PPV... Barrera and Morales fighting a nobody results to bankrupt.. Marquez can't sells flies only been on a PPV vs Barrera and that's lower than David Diaz and Pac...

Pac fighting Diaz earned him a total of 5 million Dollars + PPV Shares and Gate Revenue
                ....

                It's more like

                75 % = Pac
                25 % = Marquez

Ferocity, you are clearly delusional.. Barrera, Morales and Marquez never got 250k buys fighting unknown fighters

If one man has a nation on his back(Filipines), then he is going to attract way more buyers from his country. On the other hand, if several men have a nation on their back(Mexico), they are bound to share the wealth and their fans will spread out. Its that simple.

It won't be a PPV. It would be held in the parking lot on some hotel in Reno just like the JMM-Jandaeng fight.
