Is it a tuneup fight?

Manny Pacquiao just got a belt at 135. Next step for him is either another 135-lb. titlist or a shot at Hatton's belt at 140.

I'm currently arguing with a big Edwin Valero supporter (who shall remain nameless but I think you can figure out who it is....) who took offense at the fact that I called Valero a tuneup.

Now don't get me wrong , I think Valero is an okay fighter and could be dangerous , but I consider him nothing more than a tuneup fight for Manny.

Does anyone here think that he'd be fighting Valero if all the other Titlists and big name guys weren't already signed to a fight and unavailable. Hell , I think Soto would probably be fighting Manny in November if Cortez didn't screw him over.

Do you think Valero is a big fight for Manny or a tuneup (keep busy) fight before he goes on to Marquez , Casamayor , Campbell , Hatton , etc.?

I didn't take offense that you called Valero a tuneup. I find it comical that you feel that way. I find it even more comical that you keep comparing him to Diaz in terms of speed. No offense, but Diaz was a bum. Valero can fight. You are totally sleeping in Valero too. Don't be shicked when he ko's PAc, because I won't be. Valero is not a tune up by any means, even Roach knows this. Valero is more than a match for Pac. Who is Valero a tune up before Pac fights anyway? Casamarqcampman? lol

Valero isn't a really great fighter but I don't know if you could call him a tune-up. he is a champ that has a ko in every one of his fights so he is far from a tune-up fighter even if he has many flaws to his fighting style.

This fight woulda been bigger at 130, but I still think Valero deserves more respect than to be labeled a tuneup opponent. Doubtful he'll win, but this ain't a fight Pac can afford to take lightly. Valero is dangerous.
