There is a major difference between being a victim and living in the victim mentality. The victim understands that cruelties have been committed against him. But rather than wallow in self-pity, he gets up, brushes himself off, and seeks to move on with his life. Those that choose to hold on to the “victimization” mentality are left in a state of self-imposed bondage from which no one can free him.

    True or False?
    what about racial profiling?

Overall the quality of the board lately has been at its lowest. With mayweather saying what hes saying, wright joining him, and then the leigons of fans who then condemn it, BUT THEN, proceed to hate on black people, while bigging up their own race and culture, its creating an endless cycle of garbage.
      Good post.

I dont think it was so bad when I started, but now you see the race-card played in seriuos boxing-threads as well. I'm sick of it. And I dont understand the purpose. I reckon there must be some serious beefs that should be settled in the thunderdome instead of poluting NSB.

You mean like irish-american or anglo-american or french-canadian?

Isn't it so (and I'm asking because I dont know the answer) that blacks themselves want to be called african-americans? If not then what would be appropriate?

I think there are too many whiners and crybabies who have no idea of how good they have it in America.
Didnt Tunney place the "race card" when he was champion?

As a man who got off the boat a couple of years ago thats what I thought anyone who lives in America is supposed to be called.....you know, in Europe we know that America is a country of immigrants, be it from 200 years ago or 5. Hence, people that live there are simply Americans, cause to call each one by his or her ethnic background would be too much....Polish-American, Irish-American, African(insert a country from a list of many)-American, Italian-American...

but apparently it wasnt politicaly correct to call people just Americans....to reasure myself that it is indeed not right to simply say Americans, I turned on chanel 49 on my cable (BET) and guess what, the news, the shows would refer to people as African-American...

                  --------

Its fascinating to study the States.....I come from a country that has its tensions along the lines of language and political views but the US is just on a whole new level.

No, he didn't. He was an Irish American...

You know, people are free to leave the US if they don't like America! My grandparents didn't like living in the communist USSR, so they left...
