n promoting champions like Muhammad Ali, Roberto Duran, George Foreman, Joe Frazier, Larry Holmes, Marvin Hagler, Alexis Arguello, Carlos Monzon, Iran Barkley, Thomas Hearns, Ray Leonard, Ray Mancini, James Toney, Terry Norris, Rafael Ruelas, Gabriel Ruelas and Oscar De La Hoya, with superfights such as Hagler-Leonard, Chavez-De La Hoya, Holyfield-Foreman, Foreman-Moorer, Leonard-Hearns, Hagler-Hearns, Ali-Frazier II and both Ali-Spinks fights. Arum has participated in most of the top-grossing fights in boxing history. Still, he has remained low profile in a highly visible sport.

Depends. They both have their pros and cons. They work best when they come together, which is why Arum is ****** by being a crybaby because MGM couldn't afford bringing Pacquiao-Valero there.

Also Golden Boy has helped bring back some fighters careers and put them in the spotlight.

      Career turns arounds/new found stardom:

-Juan Manuel Marquez (Career turned around consideribly since joining with Golden Boy)
-Shane Mosley (Brought him back to life by matching him against Vargas)
-Israel Vasquez (Probably Golden Boy's best work by matching him with Marquez)
-Daniel Ponce De Leon (Brought him up quite nicely till he got KTFO)
      -David Lopez (BIG career turnaround)
-Jhonny Gonzalez seems to be having a good comeback

Granted Arum brings together the better prospects, Golden Boy is still in the learning process and is doing just fine. They both need each other and Arum needs to quit acting like a 4 year old child who didn't get his way.

For years it was only Arum and King, if you think about it boxing has turned its back on King since it wants to get away from the whole "Don King Fixed the fight" "Boxing is corrupt because Don King' lets not forget Arum admitted giving money to the IBF to help get Foreman vs Schulz.

He wants to complain about Delahoya getting all the dates on HBO when he had a contract with Versus and pretty much had HBO locked down when he was promoting Delahoya.

Arum should do the Pac fight in Houston or LA which would garner nice crowds, but the truth is he wants those nice site fee's that usually come with the Vegas casinos.

Casamayor and Marquez at MGM Grand will not sell ..
I agree on this one... Floyd is retired, unless he changed his mind like a woman does most of the time...
Golden Boy doesnt have enough quality fighters on their stable... and after DLH retires they will lose some of their leverage in negotiating for a fight and venue.

Either of the two fighters, Cotto and Margarito will not make PBF unretire and Pac will not go beyond 140lbs... and besides after that racial comment on HBO, it will be tough for him to return to HBO... unless Showtime take the cudgels...

Top Rank pays more to fighter than Golden Boy

anyway this war between Arum and Oscar is something big. why?

Oscar is one of Arum's former fighters who now opens a promotional company that competites with him. And now many other superstars are doing the same like Winky, Floyd, Tito and even Zab Judah.

Arum fears that he is going to lose many boxers to being self-promoted. Miguel Cotto has his own promotional company too so that could be a risk for Arum because he maybe be losing Cotto in the coming years
