At this point, if you reject an offer to fight for multi millions of dollars, I can take your retirement serious. Therefore, I'd call him officially retired. So, he WAS the best fighter in the world. He's definitely not the best active fighter in the world, at this point, that would be Manny Pacquiao.
In general, which fans are more capable of overlooking the race of a fighter?

The pfp best boxer in the world is Floyd. Now if Floyd were named Floyd Pacquaio, Floyd Calzaghe, Floyd Marquez or Floyd PAvlik, I would be rooting for Floyd who ever NO MATTER what his race is. The one thing I don't like is when one race projects themselves to be better than the other.Comment

Who cares what you think lol. I have Calzaghe ranked ahead of PAc on my pfp list. Pac is third. When Calzaghe retires, and Pac is on the list, he will be ranked pfp best unless he has lost by then. What, who ever doesn't have Manny pfp best isn't a fan? What an idiot response lol.Comment

Retire:
1 : to withdraw from action or danger : RETREAT
2 : to withdraw especially for privacy
3 : to move back : RECEDE
4 : to withdraw from one's position or occupation : conclude one's working or professional career
So how those two bolded parts, ESPECIALLY involve Floyd?
If you don't fight, you don't hold on to any other title. Why would you hold on to the mythical p4p title? If you don't fight, you're not risking anything, so therefore you can't reap the rewards. End of story.Comment

You check the best fighter pfp for the last 28 years since 1980. Was there ever a best fighter pfp who was caucasian fighter pfp in those years? You can go even further in history too. Starting from 1980 the pfp best were in no orderif I miss any, inject them please) duran, Leonard, hagler, chavez, tyson, pea, toney, jones, curry, norris...norris lol, dlh, floyd etc. So if I had to vote which fans could be the most objective, and I won't vote, it could be white folk lol. People tend to talk about the "white hope" thing, but with Floyd retired, if I had to pick a pfp best today, Calzaghe hands down with PAc second.

That's what the pound for pound list is. Mayweather retired. End of story. No reason to include him. He'd be the best fighter if he came out of retirement, but he'd have to prove that, aswell. Until then, he's retired.
