OK but they are rare examples... what are the odds that both BROTHERS get PHD's and become heavyweight champions.

'trying' ... the college might be ****ty.. not like Oxford/Cambridge/Harvard etc etc... and he may only get a minimum pass (3rd class degree).. therefore that does not make him clever.

I'm beginning to think this is a bait thread. Therefore, I am removing myself from the discussion.

          Good day, lads.

What a load of crock. Calvin Brock, both Klitschko brothers, Shaun George, Juan Diaz, Sechew Powell, Roberto Benitez, Jaidon Codrington, Francisco Palacios, and so many other fighters have college backgrounds.

It's not impossible to balance school with boxing so I don't understand how you think Boxers can't get a degree.

Completely! And even though there are exceptions, you know what they say the exception doesn't make the rule.

My amateur boxing trainer used to tell me that Boxing is for the poor. Poor people are often uneducated.

There is no dis*****g that you don't need school education to be a successful prizefighter. It certainly doesn't mean that there aren't some highly intelligent boxers though. Boxing is a tough way to make a living and generally people with better options don't choose to make the sacrifices it requires to be successful at the highest level of the sport.
