The better question is, why would Floyd be so eager to face Cotto when he was a green 140 pound fighter, and not want to fight him when he's an in his prime 147 pound fighter?
More of a risk? More of a challenge? Probably. But of course you can go ahead and say Floyd doesnt need Cotto, and you'd be right.Comment

Why should he??
It's up to Cotto to pursue the MAN..not the other way around.
Arum NEVER made Floyd an offer to fight Cotto.
Shane was out of his prime as well..and didn't look nearly as good as Oscar did that night against Floyd.
The Oscar that Floyd fought would beat the **** outta' Cotto and Marge..hell..Tony couldn't even handle Santos at 154.
And Shane looked way better than De La Hoya. That fight was closer than Mayweather vs DLH, which Floyd outpointed DLH but barley.Comment
