Floyd should be if he wants to call himself the best. Hatton & De La Hoya aren't the real challenges in the division. They are less risk more money, thats why your boy takes them.

And Shane looked way better than De La Hoya. That fight was closer than Mayweather vs DLH, which Floyd outpointed DLH but barley.

No way was Miguel Cotto ready back then....the picture that comes to mind is when Mayweather fought Gatti and the look on both Cotto and Hatton's faces as he DESTROYED Arturo. I think Arum was smart in NOT making that fight happen...well Hatton was too. Cotto has made VAST improvements since then. I think he is a very tough and strong fighter. The thing that I see in Miguel is that his defense is just good enough...and when he loads us to throw big shots, he gets tagged. I think if he tightens his defense ALL of the way up, these guys out now ain't seeing him (I feel the same about Manny). He just has to continue to stay hungry.

Another thing that I have noticed is that he says that he doesn't need Mayweather....I agree to a certain extent. However, every fighter on the BRINK OF GREATNESS needs a GREAT opponent to face. I personally don't think that he will rest until he gets his shot at Mayweather, rather he says in publicly or not. Smart move on Arum's part to NOT make the fight back at 140. It would have RUINED his young UNdefeated career. Good thread as well.

Yeah I do think at this point Cotto is better. But I'm not a Mayweather hater, I have never talked bad about him. I always say was a great fighter so your point is invalid.
