You can't easily compare public relations dilemmas from different media eras.

Thats a cop out, especially considering were talking about black men, with extroidinary talent who were full of themselves and were universally disliked. What ****in difference does it make? Every fighter must be like pacman humble and a great guy? Thats never been the case. Every fighter must be like cotto, silent and not talkative? Thats rare, if you are going to talk public relations from "different eras" then you could say that Cotto didint do enough to get the fight with mayweather by not publically calling him out, since in this era of the internet, calling people out and insulting people, cotto didint do enough.

That would be a ****** excuse, im sorry man, im not gonna create a double standard based on "different media eras".

Guys like Pacman and Cotto are rare, most fighters are *******s, most talented individuals are *******s, its just how the game goes.

I never said admire them. My point is why care so much that it makes a person dislike someone they truly don't know as a person. You can't admire a person you don't know. Owens is a perfect example I really don't like the **** he pulled with the Eagles but I would be ****** to say he don't produce on the field and shoot down everything he does just because I don't like some of the **** he did. If I did that kind of **** that is going beyond being a fan. People who hate and discredit athletes because of some fake ass public persona really need help because something wrong with them.

So what u are saying is, there is something wrong with the THOUSANDS of fans who dislike guys like T.O and Floyd because they dont like athletes that act like *******s? Admiring and giving them credit for thier work is totally different than admiring them as a person.

Yes, many people dont look at things realistically, alot of people get frustrated and angry when an athelete doesnt do something that they like on screen, but they ****ing do it everyday in their own daily life.

              Ill give you an example

Baron Davis just left my team, the golden state warriors, to go play for the clippers for more money presumbly. People cry foul and anger over it, however, people leave their jobs all the ****ing time for more money and more oppurtunity. They may tell their boss they want to stay, but they leave anyway.

Floyd takes on Baldomir instead of Margarito for the WW championship, for the same amount of money and the actual ring title. I work in the insurance buisness, lets say another company offers me a producer, and another company offers me a Managing General Agent job for the same amount of money and more prestige. Being a producer the money isnt garunteed, but an MGA is garunteed and the title is far more prestigous.

Even if i took the producer job, id earn some respect, but then id get ripped for not taking the much more prestigous MGA job for the exact same amount, in the long run, it would be ******.

Lets look at another example. One team mate badmouths another teammate to the media=/= One coworker badmouths another coworker to other coworkers, aka gossiping and starting trouble.

Basically people try to act like they can relate and love ahteletes like they are their mother, boyfriend or son, these people are ****ing people. Some are stand up individuals, some are *******s. If we look into your daily life, im sure there is plenty of floyd mayweather, Ty cobb, T.O, Chad Johnson, Ryan Leaf in alot of you.

Not giving it your all at work. Not trying your hardest to help. Gossping and instigating at the workplace etc.

And some folks have the nerve to act like they dont act like this and polarize the outside actions of a fighter, as if they do none of the above.

I respect floyd jrs skills immensely I just hate that he talks a big game but never fights the people We the fans want or he promises us a fight but ends up pot shotting for 12 rounds( at 130-135) floyd jr was sick though but after that he has become nothing more then a money hungry put shotter who picks the easiest fights.

We dont have to grade pacman ont he same level as floyd jr.

1 pacman doesnt go around saying I am the best that ever lived better then sugar ray robinson or ali.
2 floyd jr doesnt back up his talk! he doesnt fight he best coming from a guy who claims to be the best.
                3. floyd jr promises fireworks but never delivers...pacman promises fireworks and he tries his hardest to deliver unless he is in with a counter puncher who doesnt come forward so it makes it hard.
                4. pacman is a humble guy who cares what the fans think and he wants them to be happy with him.
5.they both hand out money but the difference is floyd jr tries to buy peoples happiness while manny pacquiao already has peoples respect and actually wants to help people.

I am saying something is wrong with thousands of people who dislike guys like T.O. and PBF on a personal level when they don't know them on a personal level. Then they translate that dislike into discrediting everything those guys have accomplished just because of that dislike.

The bold is exactly what I am getting at the two must be separated because a very high majority of fans don't know these people personally.

I can agree with a lot of your post but you state the bold like its fact when you don't know that. Only PBF knows his reasons behind the charity work that he does.

See that is what I was talking about you are taking how PBF acts toward boxing and throwing money around at a club and connecting it to everything he does and you can't do that.
