Having said that, there is actually a thread, believe it or not, posing the question who is superior out of Kessler and Hopkins (a ring legend). What is worse is that people are in there mounting an argument for Kessler. GTFO people. Who has he beat? Mundine is his biggest win! Posters write Mundine off as a joke then go and say that a guy who has Mundine as his number one win is better than one of the best fighters of the past decade.
imo Kessler is a bit overrated but he is still very good.

There is no Kessler is an ATG movement, no-one says that, and if they do they are on crack. Comparing Kessler to Hopkins is not absurd however, I would say there is a reasonable argument that Kessler is actually the more talented/ skilled boxer and presumably it is fair to speculate about whether he would have beaten Hopkins in his prime, since in all fairness he would have been one of the tougher opponents that Hopkins faced. What is absurd is comparing Kessler to Hopkins in terms of all time status and achievements, in which case there is no contest. With 20 defences and many years as MW champ plus a LHW title, versus two SMW belts lost after a few defences, Hopkins wins that particular contest hands down.

Kessler is very good and he would get his chance to prove if he is an all time great in the next 5 to 6 years but i do feel like Joe calzaghe fans tend to overhype/overrated him to make Calzaghe look great, I dont feel they need to because Kessler would prove to be great in the long run anyway.

Who the **** are these guys? Figments of my imagination.

Abager is a relatively decent Calzaghe Fan
            So are you

Both of you play up this huge victim complex about it. But at least you guys are not completely unreasonable.

And I agree with you about Kessler. He COULD become a great ATG type fighter. Then again maybe not. We'll see. I do think that even when Hopkins faced Jones, he was way more well rounded. And he was facing a prime Roy which no offense, is far greater than a 36 year old Calzaghe (prime or not). And I recall that Roy Hops fight being WAY closer than Kessler Calz.
            Same person......

Kessler is a good fighter but has proved nothing fighting the competition he has faced, when he did step up in competition he lost but no surprise there really it was Joe Calzaghe, Hopkins in his prime would of beat Kessler, Hopkins would outwork him, outscore him and win a decision. Hopkins of the present day i could see losing a decision to Kessler though.
