    Kessler is overrated

There seems to be this massive "Kessler is an ATG" movement sweeping through the forum at the moment. Let me say, firstly, that I am in no way whatsoever a hater. I have been a fan of Kessler ever since he totally out-fought Mundine a few years back. I think he is exciting and a great fighter to watch.

Having said that, there is actually a thread, believe it or not, posing the question who is superior out of Kessler and Hopkins (a ring legend). What is worse is that people are in there mounting an argument for Kessler. GTFO people. Who has he beat? Mundine is his biggest win! Posters write Mundine off as a joke then go and say that a guy who has Mundine as his number one win is better than one of the best fighters of the past decade.

I agree whole heartedly. Resume is not becoming of his reputation. Can't wait for him to come to the states though.

Markus Beyer is a pretty good win as well. I would probably go Beyer as his biggest win.

That said, yes, people saying his career is better than Hopkins's are off their ****ing rocker.

It’s quite shocking how high some or should I say all Calzaghe fans rate Kessler. They say P4P he was a better champion that Oscar De La Hoya and Tito.

I will admit that it is close. However the only fights of Beyer's that I have watched were the two against Danny Green and the Kessler fight. He did not impress me at all in any of these which is why I would favour Mundine. Also because Mundine beat Green far more convincingly than Beyer managed to. It could go either way though and still doesn't change the scope of the argument a great deal I don't think.

Nah Beyer was primed to lose. The guy was up and down like a yoyo in his most recent fights. Mundine had more game in him than Beyer when they fought Kess.

How can a one loss world champion fighter who barely cracks anyone's top 15 p4p list be OVER-rated? If anything... he's underrated.

I dont think anyone is comparing Kessler's career and achievements with Hopkins. If anyone is, they need a slap.

Not just for the fact that Hopkin's achievements surpass Kesslers by a fair distance BUT its an unfair comparison as Hopkins is like 20 years older. Kessler still has time to achieve things in the sport.

I think what people are comparing is the Hopkins that fought Calzaghe and Kessler. People perceive the Kessler fight to have been a bigger challenge because they believe Hopkins was past it which I dont neccesarily agree with but there ya go.
