There probably won't be a big star right away, but maybe what Pac is doing now will inspire more youngsters in the Phillipines to become boxers and down the road their could be a fighter that approaches Pac's level.
With Pacquiao, he is special. The US have Dela Hoya, Mexicoa have JCC Sr., Philippines have Pacquiao. Pacquiao's personality and appeal is strong with Filipinos, that is why he is diffirent from the past and current boxers in Philippines. His fighting style also is exciting. There will not be another Pacquiao. There can be another Filipino boxing star. Maybe a 2x division champ.
Philipine boxing will be still alive but not as great with Pac.
The U.S. had Ali, Mexico had JCC sr., Puerto Ricans had Tito, Panama had Duran, Phi have Pac.
Manny is special because his style and work rate would give any throwback fighter major problems... put Manny in any generation and I believe he'd dominate

I was just about to say this. Pac is an inspiration to the youth
Is Philippine Boxing done after Manny Pacquiao retired?
i doubt it.
i don't know if philippines will get another "pacquiao" any time soon though.
but there will be a few "penalosas" and "espinozas" 'til then.
the philippines had "pancho villa" at the beginning of the century , "elorde" a few decades later and now "pacquiao".
philippines loves boxing and there will always be fighters coming out of there. with american promoters in philippines looking for the next "pacquiao" (golden boy has a division in philippines now among others) filipino fighters are gonna get more chances to be on the american/world stage.
look at how much press donaire , banal and even bautista is somewhat receiving. no one would've even heard of them before.
