Is British Boxing Done After Hatton and Calzaghe retires?

In my opinion both Hatton and Calzaghe have squandered their potential chances of recognition as world recognised HOF's by not fighting in America earlier in their careers and fighting a lot of bums most of their careers........... Calzaghe would rather fight RRJ than Pavlik!........that fight should of happened about five years earlier.........Comment

Hatton stepped up and got his chin check hooked........... he was ok fighting guys when he could employ his hold and hit, head in face tactics........when he couldn't against Floyd he was exposed.Comment

Haye
Maccrenelli
Froch
Barker
Murray
Khan
Plus several outstanding amatures who could be very good.
British boxing is in great shapeComment

Once Calzaghe retires after his fight with Jones and David Haye gets dismantled by the behemoth Klithchko, they will have china chined Khan and Hatton who would never step up to 147 and **** with the elite. We already have someone who will take Maywethers spot again and his name is Andre Berto he has that slick Mayweather defense with just as much speed as Floyd, with one of the most devastating uppercuts I have ever seen.Berto is the complete package offense and defense
no question his offence is terrific but his Defence and durability are a differenet story IMOComment

Loads of up and comers aswell. Amazed some ppl just think we've only got Calzaghe and Hatton, I mean fairly ignorant gotta be said. Just because you haven't seen much of them doesn't mean there not already good or coming through, I'd rather ppl asked rather than exposed theyre ignorance listing the only 2 fighters they clearly only know about much.Comment

The thing is we have got a lot of good armatures coming through at the moment. Tyson Fury been one who didn’t make the Olympic team but he was good enough to. This year a Beijing week are taking a record 8 boxers. That is the most we have ever taken to an Olympic competition. On Sky Sports they are shown all the new guys who come from a good boxing pedigree, Matthew Marsh winning a British title after 11 fights is a good thing. The government is making sure the boxing academies are well funded for 2012. So within the next 5 years I expect some young boxer from the UK to shine.Comment
