Froch is a dangerous opponent who's been ducked by a lot of people, such as Inkin.

From what I've read on here people seem to think Froch is **** and Taylor would easily beat him....I also think Taylor would beat Froch.

Froch isn't that much better than Lacy....Taylor has a chance to get the ultimate confidence boost by beating Froch and winning the WBC belt....He should step up and take it.

Froch may not be respected by some Americans on boxingscene, but promoters know he's a strong puncher and has an excellent chin.

If Taylor were to lose to Froch, his career would be all but ruined. So it may be wiser for him to fight the shot Jeff Lacy, whom he knows for certain he can beat, so to get a confidence building win without much risk.

Good post Tunney. I agree with you. While it would be cool if he fought Frotch right off, he is probably considering the long term just like you said. He's still a young man and can have a decent career if he plays his hand right..

With an HBO contract, Taylor can get someone like Froch in the ring anytime he wants to. This is hardly a once in a lifetime opportunity for him.

I've read that Froch will be fighting Pascal for the WBC title, if Taylor doesn't want it.

That may be what he's going for.

Lots of people are jumping on him for fighting a "shot" fighter, but so far the only man to beat Lacy is the top 2 p4p fighter in the world right now, Calzaghe.

Yes Lacy has looked average in his fights since then, but if Taylor can pick him apart like Joe did, or even fight to a stoppage, there is still some noteriety in that accomplishment and it could be very good for Taylor's reputation. And as it's already been mentioned, if he beats Lacy convincingly he can pretty much land any fight in the division, especially with HBO at his feet.

It will definitely help Taylors confidence beating Lacy no matter how much i would like to see the Froch fight. Taylor is here to stay and risking it all against a Froch that is unknown to World class opponents is far too much a risk. Career ending.

I sure hope Froch can land a decent fight for the title, Pascal would be a step up but would show no problems for Froch. Froch/Taylor for December/January for Froch's first defence (seeing he wins the title) is a possibility.
