    Froch 'in a different league'

Carl Froch's promoter Mick Hennessy has told setantasports.com that his charge is in a different league to other British fighters eyeing world titles, as he looks to set up a meeting with Jermain Taylor for the vacant WBC super middleweight title before the end of the year.

Despite Taylor's promoter Lou DiBella suggesting that his charge may opt to fight Jeff Lacy instead, Hennessy remains confident that a bout between the two fighters will become a reality and help give Froch recognition on both sides of the Atlantic.

"[Jermain Taylor] is an exciting fight for me," Hennessy said. "I'm in negotiations right now with Lou DiBella. Whether it be in the US or in the UK we're working on that right now."

"I would just say that Khan will never be as good as someone like Carl, it doesnt matter whether Carl is 40 and Khan is 17," Hennessy added. "Carl is in a different league.

"He is tough, he can knock you out with both hands, he could go twenty rounds if you wanted to. He's got a massive heart and a fabulous chin.

"Amir Khan is a very talented fighter but he could not hold Michael Gomez off and he is a super featherweight.

"I honestly genuinely believe that not only would Carl Froch beat Joe Calzaghe but he would take him out inside the distance.

Froch meanwhile has told DiBella to stop hiding behind American television to avoid the Taylor fight, adding that a bout with Jeff Lacy would be another mismatch.

“I heard Lou DiBella has said ‘who the f*** is Carl Froch to American television', but he will know who the f*** the ‘Cobra’ is when his fighter is laying horizontal in front of him," Froch said.

"Then I will ask him what does he know about boxing? In my opinion doing Taylor versus Lacy is just as bad as doing Kelly Pavlik versus Gary Lockett. It’s a mismatch and anyone who buys into that has got to be nuts in my opinion.

Some good quotes from Froch and his promoter. The usual stuff really, but I agree that the Taylor v. Lacy match would be pointless. Froch v. Taylor would be a great fight, IMO.

Not sure, I think Hennessy is just saying that Khan is linked with all these world title fights and Froch never gets a mention.

I can understand where he is coming from in that respect.

I hope Taylor fights him as Calzaghe already has beaten the fight out of Lacy

Amir Khan is more marketable, Plus he is more talented and his fights are more exciting to watch.

Watching Carl Froch puts me to sleep in my armchair. He has heart put he's boring with absolutely zero charisma.

Yes, but Khan is way too young and vulnerable at the moment to get a title shot. He'd be knocked out if he went for a title soon but you still see him being mentioned ten times more than Froch, who has a chance.

I'm not dis*****g the fact that Froch is more ready then Khan for a world title shot, Froch deserves a shot but no way is Froch more talented then Khan! Mick Hennessy is talking ****e.

Like i said already, Froch has zero charisma hence why no one talks about him. It's more then just fighting your way to the top of the tree, You need the mouth to go with it to get peoples attention.
