that's why soto fought bobby pacquiao (adds the family honor and revenge factor) and why soto was on the undercard on saturday (showcases manny's next opponent like david diaz on marquez-pacquiao undercard and because soto as the wbc 130 titlist can get instant shot at the wbc 135 titlist) but unfortunately senile cortez screwed that up when he dq'd soto.

I meant the convenience of being able to eat rice and adobo for a fight at 140 would make dieting to make 135 seem like torture mentally. Also the body does not respond well to yo-yo'ing weight in such short timespans which could shorten manny's career

true. but he was already 147 on saturday. he doesn't need to add weight to go to 140. he just has to keep his weight the same level and just have to cut less before the fight. even better.

remember he was 146 when he was at 130. at 135 he was 147.

he technically only put on 1 lb. to fight at a division 5 lbs. heavier. if he does the same when he jumps to 140 he's fine. it's not like he walks around heavier than 150.
