The rumors keep circulating although Manny Pavquiao promoter Bob Arum denies any involvement.

The boxing buzz has it that efforts are being made to get Lou DiBella and his charge, junior welterweight champion Yo Paulie Malignaggi to take step aside money, delay his bout against Ricky Hatton and let Pacman fight the Mancunian idol on Nov. 8.

With DiBella/Malignaggi carving up a $1.2 million purse, how much money would they demand to give Hatton and Megamanny a pass? I bet Volcanic Lou would demand at least $400,000 and a spot for the Brooklyn boxer on the undercard. On the other hand, Maliganggi may ignore such lures.

“We checked it out,” Arum said Sunday. “Paulie Malignaggi is a nice kid and nobody wants to mess around with his big chance and payday. Hatton’s people say there is a contract and an obligation there.”

Is this Arum doublespeak or the emmis? Arum said he’ll put Picasso Pacquiao in with windmilling Venezuelan KO artist Edwin Valero on that date in Texas, where Valero has been licensed, or in Nevada if the medical experts allow Edwin to fight there.

I'm not saying the Uncle Bob is spinning yarns but when was the last time you heard of a wheeler dealer like the Top Rank bossman letting a $25 million boxing bonanza get stale? Lots of things could happen in a Hatton-Malignaggi fight to devalue Pacman-Hatton and Arum and Golden Boy know this.

titles don't mean jack. titles only mean something when the guys you're fighting is not a big name.

david was a wbc titlist and didn't have a big name so they tout the title aspect. erik just lost his 130 belt right before they fought did they say wait for erik to get a title?

this is power play from arum. he says valero or soto because he wants the best deal possible.

curious. if they give paulie step aside money does it all have to come from ricky? do you think golden boy is saying since he's stepping aside for manny , uncle bob should cough up half or something?

no need. big names make big fights.

manny didn't have a 126 belt in his fight with juan ma. he only had the ring belt.

ricky has the ring belt now at 140. if he beats ricky he takes the lineal belt at 140 too. that means lineal at 112 , 126 , 130 and 140. not bad for a one dimensional slugger eh......

before i thought ricky was too big and strong.

but seeing the diaz fight (diaz had 17 fights at 140 and 147 half of his record was above lightweight) and seeing how ricky did againt lazcano (a more natural 135 guy) i like manny's chances now.

manny tko 10 or 11 over hatton in a great fight.

having two jumps up in weight is too much imo even for a fighter like manny, the pac man should imo take on a couple more fights against maybe rafael marquez or nate campbell. then he should consider the likes of hatton.

i think he seems in a rush to deal with hatton mybe he feels as though after a year hatton wont have anything left in him. imo hatton though will deal with paulie and still have enough in the tank to take on and beat the pac man.
