The way he won was more impressive but a win over DLH looks much better on paper compared to a win over Diaz.

It's sorta irrelevant at this point considering even the casual boxing fan thought Oscar vs Floyd was a snooze fest. It's a good look on Floyd's resume, but nothing career defining except his biggest payday.

To me, Pac's wins over the 3 best Mexican fighters of this generation (Morales, Barrera, Marquez) trump anything Floyd has done.

Baldomir vs Mayweather was impressive early on but after putting enough rounds in the bank Floyd seemed content on back-pedaling and pot-shotting the slower, sluggish Baldomir. No one will call it an 'impressive' performance.

Pacquiao on the other hand never let up even when he had the fight won and ended it with an impressive KO. The Diaz fight was one of his career best performances (regardless of the opposition).

If you want to compare great performances, how about Gatti - Mayweather and Pacquiao - Diaz?
ugh.. I think that was kinda the point in the thread...

Gatti was a shot fighter, an easy picking for Floyd, but Diaz was not shot.

Floyd went up two weight divisions from the start of his career to face Gatti, Pacquiao went up EIGHT to face Diaz.

Pacquiao moving from strawweight to lightweight (eight weight divisions) and winning by KO, is like Floyd moving from junior lightweight up to cruiserweight and KOing his opponent.

Gatti was the same age as Diaz was, both were titleholders. Gatti was in many wars, yes, but since you like to use the same age argument so much, I'm doing it too.

Pacquiao moving from flyweight (a weight he had to starve himself to make and lost a fight because of it) to lightweight is about the same amount of weight as Mayweather moving from super feather to light middle.

We all know that there are a lot of super/light divisions in between strawweight and lightweight, it's no wonder Pacquiao went up 'so many divisions' which seems to impress you people so much.

And I don't put too much into Pacquiao's strawweight pro career as he was a teenager then fighting other teenagers, Mayweather also fought at strawweight and flyweight as an amateur.

I'd like to point out that I don't really even care about Mayweather (I'm a far bigger fan of Pacquiao).
I'm simply tired of reading biased trash from both sides about a fighter who is supposedly retired. I'm neutral about him, I don't let his fans, his fighting style or his outside the ring persona influence the way I think about him as a fighter.

Floyd could fight like John Ruiz for all I care, with wins over Corrales, Castillo, Hatton and De La Hoya he is surely a hall of famer and deserves respect as a boxer for his talent and dedication.
