Typical english behavior, I'll always root for Calzaghe in the US 'cause it upsets the the inbred english limies so much. They hate it when a Welsh or Scottish fight wins over here and flies their own flags (like calzaghe), not the pathetic gay ass st.george joke flag or union jack.

I agree sometimes the anti American threads/posts can be a bit annoying but in a way we brought it on ourselves.The best way to fight back is to be on the defensive never start an attack just counter their posts.What they don't realize is they have experienced all of the same problems they slate us for.Obesity,corrupt governments,educational set backs and so on.

Do you really think Calzaghe comes across as arrogant? I mean compared to most boxers he seems the model of restraint to me, apart from that he always says he will win, as all boxers do. Obviously the Hopkins butt****ing incident was quite over the top, but to be fair, considering some of Hopkins's comments, pretty funny.

I agree with you on the slapping, I mean it really isn't that bad or noticeable in the vast majority of his fights. It did look a bit dodgy against Hopkins though, because he kept having to pull his punches up short to hit the clinching Hopkins, so maybe thats why everyone thinks its so bad. All in all though I think hating him for slaps is just an excuse.

First off, if you want to see the epitimy of arrogance go watch his behavior earlier in his career. I checked it out and it's the kind of unjustified behavior when you are in no position to hype up yourself.

He has definitely calmed down now, but he still comes across as arrogant. Comparing himself to the likes of Marciano because he might retire undefeated, bringing up his victories over Lacy and Kessler in every oppertunity to glorify himself, how often he mentions the fact that he's been unbeaten for so long etc etc. Or hey, maybe he's just insecure about his legacy if he has to bring these things up so often. He shouldn't have to.

A guy that is definitely not arrogant is Kelly Pavlik. The opposite is Floyd Mayweather JR. Calzaghe is in the middle.

But I respect the fact that he respects his opponents if they respect him as well, like with Roy who respects him, but not with Hopkins. But oh wait, that might fall out of the window after seeing him call Jeff Lacy's punching "****", his punching power "****", and him as a fighter "****".
