David Haye needs to shut up and fight, I think Barrett is washed up regardless of what he did to Tye Fields and Haye should make quick work of him.

And then does he fight another fringe contender? His plan was to takeover the world in a year and fighting Barrett may look fine on paper it does nothing to answer any of the real questions facing the heavyweight Haye.

Barrett is 6'1 210-215, he isnt a real heavyweight and he isnt a big hitter. Haye is naturally the bigger man regardless of where they have fought, you could even probably say that this is essentially a heavyweight fight between two cruiserweights who dont want to go on a strict diet.

Why doesn't Haye fight the guy he called a "bum" Sultan Ibragimov and he could show the world what Wlad should have done against him? He's available...

Ibragimov would KO Haye.....Haye wouldnt take the risk of fighting a dangerous opponent like Sultan, he wants to take the easy to route to a big payday against Wlad by fighting old shot fighters(Barrett,Rahman,Toney, etc.)

Now that fight would fall in line with the caliber of opponent he stated he would fight and would also teach us something aboout Haye.

Barrett is in fact 6ft3in and has always weighed in 215lb+ so he is a small but proper heavyweight, He would seem like a perfect opponent to me, Holyfield's first opponent at heavyweight was James Tillis who had a record much like Barrett's. Haye cant win people where criticizing him for trying to get a fight with Wlad now there criticizing him for this fight.

Good move for Haye. Moving up to heavyweight it would be a mistake to fight the best straight away.

A match against Barrett would be a little bit of a challenge and he should win quite comfortably.

Then he'll have another fight in early '09 before taking on Klitschko in late '09.

lol people want Haye to fight a world champion before he's even got started in the division. I'd say for a second fight at a new weight its a decent match up. I have no doubt Haye will fight elite fighters on his way to the top, his career at CW has proved that.
