You have completely lost it. Chavez is a top 20 all time greatest fighter. One of the very best who ever liived. Pac is not even half way to chavez. The man struggled with Agipito Sanchez and beat ring worn names. Pac moved up because he couldn't make weight, Chavez moved up because he cleaned divisions out. Damn, I knew pac's fans would overrate Pac, but DAMN!!! lol.........
Did Pacquiao surpass JCC Sr. in greatness?

well, thats partially true. Pacquiao should get credit for his wins over Morales and Barrera 2, but the truth is they werent prime. so he shouldnt get credit for wins over prime Morales and Barrera, but he should get plenty of credit for beating very talented fighters nonetheless.Comment

Neither myself nor blackirish compared Pacquiao to JCC sr. nor does the context of overrated" stem from the comparison stated by the threadstarterComment

I actually thought Barrera was in his prime against Morales in their first fight. The Junior Jones fight was kind of a wakeup call, and he developed a defence. Ive even heard that the 2nd Junior Jones fight couldve gone to Barrera, and I think the Morales fight was a year or two after those fights...fighters can change a lot in that time. the Morales-Barrera fight was so brutal...I dont think either of them were in their primes past that fight.
besides, Barrera had a totally different style by the time he fought Pacquiao. Look at the difference between Barrera in the first Morales fight, and look at him in the 2nd. much, much different fighter.
regardless, the MAB win for Pacquiao was huge. MAB wasnt dead prime, but he was still pretty close. Pacquiao's first win over Barrera is probebly the most impressive win from any top fighter in the sport today. and that includes Mayweather.Comment

lightyears ahead of the beating Pac gave a title holder in ledwaba with just 2 weeks notice to fight??Comment

You judged me too soon. I personally don't think Pac has passed JCC yet. For so many reasons and one would be coz JCC made so many defenses of his titles unlike Pac who only made a couple.
But some morons here thinks it because Pac hasn't fought a lot of fighters which to me is MOOT when it comes to acquiring greatness. JCC fought a lot of great fighters but it cannot be denied that he fought a lot of bums that padded his record.
There's already a lot of coomplaining from critics whenever Pac fights average level fighters.....how can someone expect him to pad his record.....lol.
Anyway it's just a question and it didn't come from pinoyland.....lol.Comment

Its a running joke implying Marquez is a panzy when held up to the mexican warrior mentality with his history of turning down fights and backing up and counterpunching as opposed to going to warComment
