Okay be honest though....Take away the names..if you just turned on that fight not knowing anything about the boxers...what would be your impression in Calz.

Well, from the Hopkins performance I certainly wouldn't think he was the excellent boxer I know he is, and I would think that he was kind of small and weak for a LHW. I would be impressed with the way he was able to pressurise Hopkins though. No-one, ever, followed Hopkins round the ring so determindly trying to punch him in the head.

I see what you mean though, no way was it Calzaghe's best performance.

Roy against an extremely green Hopkins looked okay. And Taylor looked like garbage, he got absolutely smoked in the last 3 or 4 rounds of the first fight.

I wouldn't elevate Calzaghe above Pacquiao even if he beats Jones though.
                  I would.....

but I doubt he will 175 is too much weight for him.

Joe C needs to stay at 168 he looked like a slower guy against hopkins and got dropped by him.
calzaghe needed to ko or dominate both hopkins and rjj to beat out pacquiao as p4p #1 imho.

But who cares... Calzaghe is retiring after RJJ so it doesn't even matter anymore.

calzaghe beat hopkins on points but all the real damage was done by bernard..as for jones, jones is fast and can hurt you and has a hell of alot to prove..calzaghe better be careful in this one...jones was once obssesed with fighting not training but fighting..he was so good he was in the studio ,playing basketball, and was still unbeatable.. he has a strange style and you really have to pressure jones to beat him or he'll kill you..and how can calaghe has the speed and style to pressure jones but jones is great at keeping a fighter honest especially with that powerful straight jump in right hand..if he hurts calzaghe and keps him honest i think jones will kill him..but if joe can keep coming foward he has a chance but i dont think he was the power to knock jones out so ... i doubt joe can win this one
