If PAc continues to beat top fighters, the argument can be made. If he avoids Guzman and Valero and fights the Diaz's and other old fighters, he won't be.

He's a very strong fighter, but very ordinary. I want Pacquiao. I 'm the best 130 pounder out there. I'm the best Dominican fighter ever."

Joan Guzman, right, used a sharp jab and solid footwork to keep Humberto Soto at bay.

Despite the victory in his second title defense, Guzman (28-0, 17 KOs) shouldn't expect a call from Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum, who also promotes Soto (43-6-2, 27 KOs).

"If he was thinking Pacquiao, he took himself out of the sweepstakes," Arum said. "He's not appealing to the people. I gotta do 350,000 homes (on pay-per-view) on these fights. I'm lucky I do 150,000 with him. It's more than winning the fight. You have to entertain the people. Who's going to buy this kid? The first six rounds it looked like a fight of the year. The last six rounds, he turned the crowd against him. You have to have people wanting to buy him. The last six rounds he stunk it out."

Guzman, of course, wants a shot at Pacquiao, who is due to select his March 15 opponent Thursday night while having Thanksgiving dinner at Arum's Las Vegas home.

"I've always wanted Pacquiao," he said. "The world wants it."

When asked if he thought he would get him, Guzman smiled and said, "I don't think so."
what does this mean? guzman wants to fight paquiao, wow, everyone from 140 down wants to fight paquiao including campbell who is the lightweight champ and guzmans next opponent

Don't you want to see PAc in a fight? A true fight? Not against some overmatched no hoper like Diaz.

It's entirely possible that Pacquiao will have a better career than MAyweather if Floyd stays retired.

Pacquiao can beat guys like Valero and Casamayor and Juan Diaz. He could potentially beat Ricky HAtton at 140 or one of the weaker title holders at 140. Dude is a special fighter. It is reasonable to think that Pacquiao could cap off his great career like that...especially with Hatton and Diaz looking vulnerable and Casa being a dinosaur. His speed and punching power make him a threat to anyone around 135.

No, he can fight Nate, and who cares who Valero beat. He is a champion. Do you know who who Valero beat because if you don't, how can you judge his comp?
