At 168 Calzaghe ****s Winky Wright, this is ridiculous of a topic. Not only that, but Kessler would **** him too at that weight class, styles make fights but Winky is not going to do anything special at 168

Winky maybe have had close fights vs Taylor and Hopkins and Vargas but fact is that's what they were.....close fights.

I can't see Calzaghe having his way with Winky. It would be a close fight all the way to the 12th and neither guy would be too sure of victory waiting for the scorecards.
Then listen to someone who has and knows what he's talking about.

We're not talking who he defeted. Monster - as in a strong fighter who you shouldn't stand in front of. The agressive come forward type fighter.

Just because he is a natural 168 doesn't mean anything if he isn't the strongest super-middle around. That's like saying Nate Campbell should fear Paulie Malignaggie because he is a natural jr.welter.

Styles make fights and I belive Winky could have pulled off a split decision.

Well the Hopkins thing wasn't all volume, but Hopkins did land more because he threw more.

Seriously though, Winky has been in close fights, and those close fights have been against... volume punchers.

I'd be willing to bet that Calzaghe is better than any volume puncher Wright has ever faced.

Joe Calzaghe is not a monster at 168. And Winky's fighting style works against all types of fighters.....he doesn't rely on pure strength.

Check both of their records at over 160 lbs and it will be pretty clear who would win at 168 lbs. This really isn't even much of a debate. The best Winky could hope for is to make Joe look bad winning.

Calzaghe would win a comfortable unanimous decision for many reasons. His work rate would be too much for Winky and that is far above Wright's prime weight division. Wright also doesn't have the pop in his punches to get Calzaghe's respect so i basically see him being out worked for the majority of the fight. Calzaghe's simply too energetic.

That's a ****** comment since Winky spent the majority of his careet at 154. His record is 3-1-1 in 5 fights above 154 losing in a close fight vs Hopkins. Just as close and ugly of a fight as Hopkins vs Calzaghe...that could have went either way.

                  That is certainly a possibility.
