There were times when Alexis had him hurt. I think in his prime, he could have done a lot more to finish him off. Though, Alexis was better at 135 and Pryor was better at 140. At a catchweight of 137.. I think Arguello takes it. 140 goes to Pryor, but only because the proof I have is of Alexis taking on that division after his best ring years.
Nonetheless, both GREAT fighters. GREAT fights.Comment

I do not think that Arguello was far past his prime in the first fight (30 years old), he was coming off several knockout wins, including a TKO stoppage over Mancini the year before.
At 140 he had destroyed Rooney who had gone 8 rounds with the big punching LMW Davey Moore in just two rounds.
