    ..PRIME FOR PRIME: Pryor-Arguello...

We all know how the two fights went. The Hawk wore down Alexis after 14, then 10 rounds. It happens, he was at a relatively low weight, had a long and SPECTACULAR career, and was 31.

But, if they had fought PRIME FOR PRIME. Who wins?

The best 140 version of Arguello I can think of would be after he fought Jim Watt or possibly Mancini. He'd be tested at 140 and he'd be a bit fresher as well.

The best possible outcome I can see for Arguello is eeking out a razor thin decision, but more often than not Pryor beats him. Great big man beats a great small man most of the time. I think that fits in this case.

I gotta go with Pryor. The guy was a psycho, he was relentless, non-stop attack. Not sure if anyone could beat him at 140.

I think at 140 Pryor would have won but by close decision instead of stopping Arguello. He would just be too big.

Alexis Arguello was an amazing boxer in his prime and a true gentlemen in the sport, but Arron Pryor just had that akward style that would have given Arguello too much trouble no matter how many times they would have fought. Pryor beat Arguello the first time around and even worse the second time around, just too much tenacity. Boxing at its best for sure.

Pryor appeared to be physically stronger than AA. That advantage I believed would have been the difference. Plus the work rate Pryor had. I can't see AA winning more than 2/10 matchups. Although I could watch these 2 battle forever.

...It also helped that he was whacked out on PCP and never felt the shots that Alexis delivered that should have knocked him out cold. Pryor absorbed punches that he should have never ever been able to take in that fight.

Pryor wasn't a big junior welterweight, he could've probably made 135 (he was even highly ranked as a lightweight), but was still bigger than Arguello, who won his first title @ 126 and peaked at 130. It would be interesting to see how it would go down @ 135. It's tough to pick against Pryor.

Arguello is the greater fighter historically though.

I think Pryor would stop him again, Arguello would still get overwhelmed by Pryor's workrate & power like the last two times.
