It's not as if he simply out muscled Tito, he won on skill and skill alone. He was the better man in every department. Tito owned a belt and looked awesome his previous fight at middleweight. I never liked this excuse from the anti-hopkins crowd because it completely over looks the fact that hopkins was the better fighter, period. If it was simply a matter of hopkins out muscling trinidad or being too physical, then it would be an acceptable excuse, but that's not what happened. Hopkins was superb that night and would have beat anyone imo.

Tito was the aggressor and trapped hopkins in the ropes multiple times, but hopkins made tito miss constantly and threw beautiful counters.

tito couldn't land a flush shot on hopkins because of his defense, which again was top notch that night.

Hopkins out-boxed tito. Tito was constantly coming forward and hopkins never allowed him to get into a grove, he did this with defense, footwork and perfectly timed counter shots, he didn't do this out of power and size, hopkins has never been a tremendous power puncher.

How did he use his size to keep Trinidad in his pocket? He used his legs and when Trinidad did cut off the ring and throw, Bernard would cover up and counter.

Did you see how Hopkins was rarely hit hard when he was against the ropes, how Hopkins moved side to side. ... Hopkins didn’t get into position where he was in danger. He frustrated Tito the whole fight. Sometimes he started the rounds moving then the next rounds he started throwing punches that confused Tito a lot and that jab was the main reason he won, Tito couldn’t get into his stride and Hopkins was landing clean blows.
