Let me get your guys's opinion on this since i feel there is a double standard in place here. If a fighter breaks his nose/jaw or gets cut from a punch and is unable to continue would you not consider that a true tko??

Well what is the difference between that and a punch that dislocates a guy's shoulder which caused him to be unable to continue?? Perhaps it should have been a tko but the fact that he was counted out makes it more legit than the other scenarios in my opinion

haha, yea, I think about the same. it seems that Peterson has a little more power than Juan, or at least has the potential for more power, but Juan seems much faster and has nicer combos. plus, even at 22-23, Juan was way better and beating better opponents. hell, he already had a title and quite a few title defences, didnt he?

but itll still be nice to have Peterson around.

lol There's no double standard, you're just a ****in moron. You can discolate your shoulder if your just playin basketball and bump into someone at the wrong angle. And you can't fight without your shoulder, but can fight with a broken nose and jaw.

Yea but the guy didnt injure himself. He was injured by a punch. And you can pop a dislocated shoulder back in place and continue to fight. Not so with broken noses/jaw or a cut.

the difference is that shoulder injuries are freak accidents pretty much 100% of the time. no one goes into a fight trying to dislocate the other guys' shoulder.

cuts, bruises and shots to the jaw happen constantly in boxing, and because of that, its not surprising for people to see cut/broken jaw stoppages.

its like Vitali's loss against Byrd. technically, Byrd did cause that, because he moved the right way or took Vitali's punch just the right way to injure him. but nobody actually thinks that Byrd TKOed Vitali, its just that Quitschko quit because he had an injury.

Dislocating a shoulder can be done by a slight push or bump at the right angle. It doesn't have to be that hard of a bump or push. And after you get someone to put it back into place, it will come back out if you try to put any real force on it in anyway. Not only that, but you'll have that problem for the rest of your life. After awhile it will just start sliding out of place when you least expect it, you could just be gradually swinging your arm in disgust and that **** will just slide out it's sockett.

Name ONE fighter who dislocated his shoulder, had it "popped" back into place between rounds and continued fighting.

That was a rediculous statement dude! Fighters fight on with broken noses, some have fought on with a broken jaw - but NOBODY has their shoulder popped back into place between rounds and keeps on going - it just doesn't happen...

                  actually, thats not true.

Danny 'The Legend' Williams did it.
that kind of thing barely ever, ever happens though. Ive never heard of anyone popping it back in mid fight either.

Nobody goes into a fight to intentionally break jaws/nose or cut anyone either. Just because its less likely doesnt make it less legitimate. If a guy dislocates a shoulder throwing a jab then fine its freakish. Being on the receiving end of something for that injury to occur is a different story

look, lets put it this way.

should the other (non-injured) guy win by TKO? yes, staying healthy is part of boxing. I dont expect it to be a NC

but if a rematch were to happen, there is a 0.1% of that happening again. being TKOed because of a shoulder injury should not reflect how durable you are, because chances are it wont happen again unless youve had the problem multiple times. as far as I know, that was a first for Trejo, and he had 0 problems with his shoulder in this fight.

Trejo lost by KO because of a shoulder injury. so that says nothing bad about his chin, mentality or his body durability. thats all.
