Maybe he's losing it with age?
Hopkins hates Cortez with a passion. He didn't even want him to ref the fight

I think that was because of the critcism he got for breaking up the Mayweather/hatton fight too much, So he lets Calzaghe/Hopkins hold/hugs alot which made for a terrible fight.

When you hold, cling and hold like Hatton and B-hop likes to do then they dont like referees like Joe cortez, But when you are in there to box like Mayweather and Calzaghe likes to do then you would welcome a ref like Cortez.

So he goes from one extreme to the other, both times favouring the American fighter.

            Strange.

Hatton is getting old (due to lifestyle). He didnt get exposed as being **** like some posters on here seem to think.

Cortez was biased as **** in that fight. Hatton wouldn't have won it with another ref but Cortez was a ****.

Cortez should have been fined for that fight. Isn't there any regulatary body for boxing? boxing ref's should be monitored like football ref's.

Hatton would have lost anyway, but Cortez was an insult to the sport and referee's.

Even the Hopkins fight was a complete joke. There's a video on YouTube of Hopkins clearly headbuttin Calzaghe and Cortez with a birdseye view doesn't say anything.

                Cortez is a joke.

Cortez is a gun ref, was it his fault he walk straight into a left check hook. If he didn’t Mayweather had the fight anyways

You act as if Hatton doesn't receive biased treatment in his hometown fights! He could of shot Tsu in the head and it would been called a knock down.Ricky Hattons father could of been the referee for that bout and the result would of been the same. The gulf in class is far to great for any fighter to overcome.

Dude it's not about Hatton winning or losing, the referring was diabolical, it was actually embarrassing to watch.
