Which is more difficult going up a weight class or going down a weight class?

I've done both, dropping weight was by far the most difficult for me.

What is your opinion as regards professional boxers, very few can drop weight and still be as effective as they were before.

Assuming you are in peak shape already then dropping weight would be hardest, gaining weight can acheived by gaining muscle.

Well dropping weight is tougher to do and is harder on your body, but then you're fighting smaller, less powerful, though usually quicker, opponents. I'd say it's a toss up.

Just the making of the weight, than it's dropping. Being effective at a weightclass than it can be more complicated

Depends how far your going up and how far up you already are.
A Natural Welter moving up to Jr. Middle would be easier than going down, a Natural Jr. Welter that has moved up to welter already would find it harder moving up. A cruiser would find moving to Heavy harder than Moving down. A SMW that had previously come from middle would find it harder to go to LHW than to move down again etc..

Droppin weight's gotta be harder cuz of the strain it puts into your body.
