Interesting piece, if you like Hagler especially, I used to train at Goody's gym when I was amateur... here it is now and looks EXACTLY the same. Same photos, same chairs, Goody's still there every day, everything is the same!! I used to see Tiger in the gym and until I saw this piece I had no idea who he was. He just used to quietly hit the heavy bag

          That's some cool stuff, Iceman.

One of these gyms that holds many stories and whose patrons are things in themselves.

the best thing in boxing is to beat someone you admire and is your role model.

but that would be impossible for me

I sparred Robbie Sims, Ian Gardner, Cedric Parsons, Richie LaMontagne, and Steve Collins, among others, at that gym. I met Bruce Curry there once back in 1987. Freddy Norwood was there in 1994.

                Thanks for posting that.

There hasn't been much detail about Hagler's training camps so any new information is always welcome.

You know he went on to be a big time movie star in Italy? He learned the language and everything....pretty funny.

I have talked to Goody and Pit about that many times...one thing I always remembered was that once they were in camp for a fight and it was Super Bowl time...Hagler stayed isolated even then, watched the game by himself in his room and everyone else watched it together in another room. And no one could call him at training camp unless it was an emergency.
