  • Pavlik is ducking Kessler

Well, not really. Pavlik is middleweight champ whereas Kessler is the #1 guy a division up. But let's be honest, Pavlik wouldn't have a prayer against Kessler, let alone against the current Ring LHW champ.

Pavlik will be a slight underdog against the guy in his division who has seven times as many title defenses, Arthur Abraham.

Kessler would be a 3:1 favorite against Pavlik, and likely wouldn't lose more than a round or two against thew exciting but unspectacular boxer from Ohio.

This talk of fighters in higher weight divisions ducking Kelly is nonsense. Pavlik had an exciting run, but let's appreciate for what it is. A nice, fortunate streak for a limited boxer/puncher who won't reign for long and likely will never be champ of any division above 160.

    Pavlik is very beatable....

    Hes nothing world class......

I think Kessler, Calzaghe, Jones, and even a 160 pound Paul Williams all would beat him.

Pavlik with his chin would be put on his ass by Kessler. You should have seen the uppercuts and bombs Calzaghe took, devastating.

Your hate for Pavlik shines through with this nonsensical post! To suggest Pavlik can't move up a weightclass and retain his power is mind boggling. The man is already built like a supermiddle.Kessler is easily frustrated with constant pressure we seen that in the Calzaghe fight.Pavlik also has a reach advantage that may play a part in the jabbing contest. They are both come forward fighters who rarely take a back step so one of them is bound to be knocked out.I have doubts about Kesslers power. He hit Andrade with every punch in his arsenal and still couldn't put him away.Sartison almost went the distance and even wobbled Kessler in the first.

Dream on buddy. I think Paul will do fine at 147 and 154 for the next couple of years, but 160 right now against Pavlik or Abraham would be suicide.

people overrate pavlik's pressure...lets see him against a mobile boxer...all he's fought is guys who where there to be hit...jermain taylor upped his defense form null to basic and almost beat him....

though i must say kessler looked like **** in his last fight to me.....he looked slow and sluggish(probably because of rust and lack of confidence)...and a slow fighter will always lose to pavlik....but i still think kessler beats him easy on top form...

Whoa KJ! Aint that a little harsh?

I agree that Kessler would or should be favoured, but 3:1 is a bit to much. More like 1½ or 2:1 IMO.

As for AA I would think Pavlik should be the betting favourite at about 2:1. After all the fight will likely take place in the US and fighters out of Germany fighting in the US usually fare bad with the judges vs. an american superstar.
