He has to step it up
Berto fought Estrada and Cosme before he has 20 fights..

If that's not stepping it up I don't know what is.

Estrada and Cosme are far better than Golden Johnson..Sebastian Lujuan..Manuel Gomez..and Alpnonso Gomez.

Berto will be ready in a couple fights because the top guys are not defensive geniuses...They are ALL there to be hit and Andre has crazy power.

Berto is on the same boat though.... his defense (and maybe his chin) will be his downfall.

I don't think he's ready for the top 3 or even 4 Welters out there yet (Cotto, Margarito, Williams, Mosley) I think he can get wins against Cintron, Judah, Collazo, and MAYBE Clottey, although I think Clottey might give him too much problems. Berto will keep developing into a very solid Welter, he's young and hasn't even peeked yet, he will dominate that division in over a year.

my exact thoughts, when i was thinking about this earlier. it be cool if he had more time to fight collazo on the undercard of this fight or someone close to him and then maybe the winner of each square off.

Actually, I don't know if that's true. David Estrada beats Alphonso Gomez and Sebastian Lujan maybe two years ago, not the version that fought Berto. And Cosme Rivera is terrible...

Finally, why are you bringing up those names? Those are guys Cotto and Margarito fought, yes? Why didn't you bring up the other names they fought between those? Like Williams, Judah, Mosley, etc? Silly argument.

I'd put him in with a Baldomir too, or maybe a Collazo as some have mentioned. His best opponent is David Estrada and that's not saying much. He won a title prematurely but they still need to groom him. Jury's still out. They shouldn't make the mistakes made with Vargas & Reid.
That's being more than generous Berto's gotta be like 5'6" more than a midget than Cotto lol.

Judah is very dangerous fighter but not consistant with his performance through out the round and losess focus easily.

in the Cotto fight. Cotto was in trouble intell he hit Zab with a lowblow which is a bitchy move but it was good tactic. Then Zab became more inconsistant with his performance and even then he would cause trouble for 10sec of every round.

Zab could destroy Berto or the other way round depends on him.
