Is Berto ready for the Big Boys ?

Or will he be another Baldomir and have his 5 mins of fame ?

I don't think Berto is ready for Cotto but he'd give some of the others a good fight

Cintron would be a good next fight

personally i dont think he has shown enough yet ... has been wobbled and if Kermit hits him i think he may go .... however he has the skills to keep Kermit at bay and get a UD .... only time will tell i guess.

That is an insult for Baldomir who fought long time to get a title fight against Zab Judah and a long streak of undeafted record.

I think Baldomir is really good fight.

I'm not sure, I'd like for him to step up his competition though.

            Whats the rush???

Was Cotto fighting Hatton or Tszyu in 2005???

Berto has the misfortue of fighting in the best division in boxing, he is young and still learning if you can't see his potential then I don't know what to tell you. He looks like Meldrick Taylor to me at times, why throw him in with Chavez so quick.

Well he has no choice now. When you have a belt, it makes you more in demand. No way Floyd would have fought Baldomir if he wasn't a title holder.

He has to step it up

I would love to see him fight Collazo next or the winner of Judah/Clottey.

He definitely has the potential for greatness but it's too early to tell. I'm just worried he'll get a beat down that'll cripple his career (especially now that he as a belt, ppl are going to want to fight him)

I'd like for him to step it up but not TOO up.

I'd say Collazzo would be good, then maybe a Judah.

Yeah, he's ready but I don't know if he beats them. Physically, he's not going to get any better - he is what he is. And his height disadvantage is a problem; calling him 5'8 1/2 is being very generous.

I'd put him in with a Baldomir too, or maybe a Collazo as some have mentioned. His best opponent is David Estrada and that's not saying much. He won a title prematurely but they still need to groom him. Jury's still out. They shouldn't make the mistakes made with Vargas & Reid.
