This video really doesn't do Calzaghe any favours.

He fought at the weight for years, I'm sure he could do it again. Although I'm sure a catchweight could be found.Comment

Obviously it is a problem. Calzaghe's weight has been an issue for months. If Pavlik was that desperate for the fight he should be the one to raise the issue.Comment

Please nothing. It has been well documented here in the UK that Calzaghe has been uncofortable making weight for some time. If Pavlik and co. were being so accomodating they would have made public their willingness to fight at light-heavy.Comment

Calzaghe majorly struggled making SMW weight. I've read him describing in detail how he eats virtually nothing for days leading upto the fight, has severe hunger pains, has to run in cling film, and just feels ill. When he makes weigh he feels like thats half the battle done.
I think since being at LHW he's gradually realised he can't do SMW weight anymore, it's just caning his body. Pavlik says he'll do anything at times, yet he doesn't really seem to have much input as to his career, Arum steers him. Could say brave, but could also, ******. I mean he's just beaten a bum, and is now facing someone 2 divisions lower.
I don't think going up in to divisions himself to meet Joe would be wise even if he would do it, that's 15 lb's in a small amount of time. I mean Williams walk around weight is high for his division, that's not the case so much of Pavlik I don't think so not so easy. In that sense I'm glad he's sticking to MW, he doesn't need to be ****ing about with his weight too much.Last edited by Kris Silver; 07-15-2008, 05:19 PM.Comment

I don't think Pavlik would make a "I only will fight him at 168" stipulation. He wants the fight period.Comment

I wasn't questioning Calzaghe's weight problems, I was saying it isn't a issue for the fight being made since Pavlik is willing to move up to 175 and fight for the Ring light-heavy championship.
I don't think Pavlik would make a "I only will fight him at 168" stipulation. He wants the fight period.Comment

There's a press conference where Arum was talking about progress with the Calzaghe ppl on a fight this year. Pavlik responded like he just didn't know about it at all, just said, sweet.Comment
