Does anybody know how much guys like Chris John, Joe Calzaghe, Arthur Abraham and other fighter from oversees make for their fights over there? I'm curious to know if the money is that good that they don't see coming over to America to fight worth their while. Most of the guys that do come over usually wait until they are on their last years before coming over. IMO I think it's because they have it too easy over there. But to be fair not too many fighters from the U.S are in any rush to go over there either. As far as John vs Juarez, I hope Rocky kicks his ass.Comment

This could have been a good fight for John against a live opponent away from his homeland and good exposure. It seems he would rather fight no names back at home I guess though.Comment

I would say that a UK fighter with an alphabet title would make more money in the short-term from having their next fight in the UK than in the US. But in the long-term a US fight is better because it will raise their profile, and so they'll make more money in the future. That's what happened with Ricky Hatton.Does anybody know how much guys like Chris John, Joe Calzaghe, Arthur Abraham and other fighter from oversees make for their fights over there? Obviously it depends upon the fighter; Naseem Hamed's first US fight was a KO win over a top American, where both of them were knocked down 2/3 times each. This meant they his future US fights were guaranteed to sell. Someone like Zoltan Erdei on the other hand would just bore Americans to death and generate no buzz whatsoever. Erdei vs Hopkins or Tarver would make people cry, let alone Erdei vs Cab Driver.Last edited by Clegg; 06-26-2008, 02:59 AM.Comment
