Honestly, Roy has nothing to offer against Calzaghe...
Both Roy and Calzaghe are very unorthodox fighters BUT Roy chokes when he's fighting an unconventional fighter, Roy would do well against Kessler and his likes, but Calzaghe?! Noway, it's a bad match-up.
Expect a comfortable UD, maybe a late round stoppage with Roy laying on the ropes, not answering back...

roy def has hand speed and power over joe

joe has legs and possibly stamina over roy

roy will have the more clean effective punches

joe will have the higher workrate

contrary to popular belief, roy WANTS this fight on the ropes....

in the middle of the ring, joe would have the upper hand because of his legs..

on the ropes... its now a game of whose betterr with the hands, and i take roy all day

Why is it that everyone who hates on- and I mean hates- Calzaghe always talks about how he slaps? Isn't it more embarrassing to get beaten by a slapper? He's undefeated and has some solid names on that long resume of his- including an aged Hopkins- why dislike him so much?

Honestly, power isn't everything. Let's say that Calzaghe has a highly unorthodox style in which he isn't always sitting down on his punches and landing cleanly- and yet he fires from angles that his opponent is unaccustomed to. What's wrong with that?

"Slapzaghe" and all that....how did POWER become so crucial for some people? Is Mayweather crap at 147 because he lacks power? Is Baby Bull not worth watching, despite his high output, just because he doesn't have pop? Christ, guys. You can dislike anyone you want but some posters border on or plain disrespecting a fighter for no reason.

I'm not sold on Pavlik- has anyone ever heard me talk **** about him? I critiqued Khan's last fight rather harshly, didn't I give him credit for his speed and offensive repertoire? Really guys. Let's learn to be intelligent and at least pretend to have some sort of objectivity that leads to respect for boxers....
