and for your information, the reason the spaniards didn't want to totally take over the philippines was because one, the philippines had no gold, two, it was too far from spain as mexico was much closer and had much more riches!

believe me, if spain wanted to take control of all of the philippines they could have with no problem. and the fact that the philippines is made up of hundreds of islands also made it difficult to capture all of the philippines inhabitants.

I didn't say that....I just picked where the Mexican natives were advanced (math, engineering, architecture) but you have to admit to the fact that the aztecs/Mexican ancients were poor in defending themselves. I don't know anything about any diseases the Spaniards brought, but Cortez' 400 hundred soldiers slayed 40 thousand of the aztecs, almost annihillating the race. (all within a year. The Spaniards had a harder time with the Philippine natives because there were rebellions everytime. In fact the southern part of the country was never conquered by the Spaniards. There were a lot of Spaniards killed in that area.
